Purpose of LiFe !!

Life is the strangest mystery I have ever seen.Everybody knows that it will end one day but nobody wants to believe. Everyone is busy doing the routine daily works of life as if they are going to live forever. If you ask someone, what is the purpose of their life, most of them will shrug it off saying that they don't think too much and they are happy go lucky person but really ARE THEY??

It is very good to be happy go lucky but one needs to understand what true happiness is..what makes their soul happy?? Just money or worldly pleasures wont make anyone happy. Though, it may disillusion them that Yes, they are happy. When I talk to my friends about what they want to do with their life, most of them want a decent paying job, a pretty spouse and a standard/posh life style. Even I wont deny that I don't want them. I also want them badly but I don't want JUST them.I want MORE!!

In the book by Brian Weiss, it is written that we come in this world seeking knowledge and as we learn, we climb different levels finally to meet with the Supreme ONE. I found it the most suitable answer to the ever existing question "What is the purpose of our Life?" But, I am not able to understand if that is the case then why do we run in the rat race??  Why do we fear falling behind ??
I may sound stupid but as far as I know the knowledge talked in the book is not about the engineering or medical knowledge rather it talks about the REAL knowledge which exists in this beautiful world.

Anyways, I was not talking about leaving the world or about not enjoying pleasures of this world, Certainly, one should. But, we should always keep the higher/real purpose of our existence. The real happiness is what you feel when you help someone without any greed. The smile which you can see on the face of your parents when you achieve something great in life soothes every pain in the world. The joy of spending a long weekend in the nature with your loved one is unparalleled. Certainly, the job of engineer/manager is important to sustain in this world but what I want to convey is that there is much more than that and priority should be given to other things too.

What effort does it take to laugh out loud with your heart?? Going an extra mile with a friend just for her company wont make you feel smaller. Expressing your love to someone wont make you feel stupid. Feeding stray dogs wont make you land in hospital. Searching happiness in small daily routine is needed in the busy life. Pursuing your "True" dream needs a lot of courage but at the same time it is the only source of REAL Satisfaction. So, Friends, Spread love, seek knowledge,Laugh with open heart, help selflessly, don't hurt or back-stab your beloved, be warm and polite, earn a lot, spend a lot on needy ones too after spending it on you, Drink responsibly, in short LIVE Life!!  ;)

क्या सच में देश बदलेगा?? क्या हम उसे बदल पाएंगे??

"रंग दे बसंती" or RDB as we usually call it is one of my all time favourite movie. Every time I watch it, I feel a sense of patriotism within myself. The way it correlates the present situation with pre independence era is simply mind blowing. It makes me realize that the persons like bhagat singh and rajguru were ordinary persons like us who did extra ordinary deeds by showing unmatched courage and sacrifice.
But the question lies..Are we ready for it?? As, we all want Bhagat singh but in neighbour's home. We don't want to loose our dear ones for the sake of anything. We don't want to compromise with our lavish lifestyle for some change in society. What happens if some brutal thing happens to XYZ of our country..We express some grief..share some articles/photo on social sites and then relax that the same thing didn't happen to us/our dear ones. How selfish we are?? Isn't it??
But, What can we do? We have our responsibilities. We have tough competitions. If we focus much on social issues, chances are that we may end up in being NOTHING...No good job..No lavish life..The cause for which we had started struggling fade away with time due to many different factors. Sometimes, It is due to poor leadership..and sometimes we loose interest as the topic seems out of vogue. Moreover, it is human nature that our priorities keep on changing. Some years back, I wanted to be an engineer and get a job which pays me enough to sustain livelihood but today i want MORE...I look for job profile, location and above all job satisfaction...So,Is it that I am selfish or inconsistent?? No..It happens with everyone. It is not a bad thing to improve our living condition. So, Social cause always becomes a non priority for most of us.
There are several IAS/IPS who join service with the sole motive of changing the system and most of them are well deserving too but very few succeeds to do the same..Some of them bring changes at a local level but what they wanted always seems a distant dream. We can admit that some of the politicians are well learned and honest, yet, what we see is the problem everywhere in most of the departments. What is the cause of this??Why cant the best of us lead the remaining of us  to a prosper world?
Well,I feel that the situation is changing but at a slow scale.Best people are doing their work religiously but it takes time to reflect in this large country. The thing which can expedite the process is changing the mindset of  country and that can be done by providing better education not degrees. We need to explain the need of sudden change to our new generation. We have to make them visualize that how can they contribute to society..We can show them that the leaders like Mahatma Gandhi and Nehru were not perfect and were more or less like the rest of us yet they had some qualities which we need to replicate. We should teach our kids to discuss ideas not people. We should ask our children to call electricity department in case of power cut and not to see if the neighbour is also facing the same problem and then relax. We can ask our offsprings to be an energy radiator and transmit positive energy wherever they go.
All we can do is by changing ourselves, I am not asking to go out for demonstrations. The only thing which we can do is that we can do our job with full honesty, We can change ourselves. We should be knowledge seekers and contribute wherever we can. If we cannot build a road..atleast we can try to prevent it from breaking. If we do this much, The bhagat singhs will easily lead us to prosperity without much sacrifice.

Well,I know its easier said than Done...But, We can atleast TRY!!

Social Networking: Useless/Useful???

The recent surveys show a new kind of addiction spreading among the youth as well as teenagers. Some data reveals that even "Not So Young" people also face the same addiction. This is FB Addiction i.e facebook/social networking addiction.
Well, enough have been said about the ill effects of this Zuckerberg's offspring. It makes students and employees lazy and unproductive. Various Psychological imbalances have been observed in the online patients of  this ailment. Many people have reported their urge to tweet/update their each and every activity on Internet. Many couples are facing infidelity cases due to this.It has replaced "The Idiot Box" in  time wastage. The concept of :Identity theft has come due to this. So,Is everything wrong with this wonderful innovation??
No,Certainly NOT. Like every beautiful thing, it is lethal too. We must know how to handle it.Let us look at some brighter aspects of this. Well,First thing what I observed is that the general knowledge i.e the awareness about what is happening around us in the world has risen to a great extent among its users. People love to crack jokes about the political or social drama happening in the real world and this indirectly takes them few steps forward in becoming responsible citizens as they come to know about their country and the people ruling them. The other thing which  I observed is that people have become more expressive. They express themselves on social forums more openly and more aggressively than ever before.
The persons who had no interest in visiting new places have suddenly become avid travelers as they have to upload their photographs and same place every time seems a bit out of fashion!!!(believe me, its true and I have seen many organisms of this species). We are trying new things like new games, new wines, new restaurents, new "FAKE" hobbies just to get maximum likes and "awwwws" :)
Well, above all what I feel is that if a person wants to get any information and views on certain things, he can get most reliable data in the minimum of time in easiest way as never before.Last month, I saw some discussions going on about north east people and I got a chance to know the exact views of NE people, What they feel about caling names and when they feel insulted..everything which I guess could never have been possible 5 years back. Many times, I have got a chance to interact with "GENUINE" people across the globe with the same interests as mine and believe me I had a wonderfula and fruitful experience which was imposible if I didn't had account on fb.
I feel surveys on facebook are mostly on useless topics but the results are genuine in most cases. I have seen people replying honestly on facebook if it didnt affect their "Show-OFF quotient".
Undoubtedly, there is no better way to know a person than meeting him directly in REAL world and spending some  time with him/her, but, one can certainly know a lot about a person by his/her social networking profile, the tweets he has done. The pics, groups, hobbies, movies, music, things liked etc tell a lot about person without meeting in person and this has all been possible due to this online networking portals.
Sites such as Linkedin provides us a chance to visit the educational and corporate profile of a top honcho with minimum efforts, Apart from that, Many big companies are hiring on LinkedIn too.
In short, I would say that it is a boon if used wisely and monster otherwise.
So,be careful next time...!!!! :) :)

Changing faces of Indian society...

Today is an era of social networking. We have the freedom to express our thoughts, our feelings and our fascinations that never existed before. We are free to do many things which were considered taboo before. Are we in an era of social freedom?? Does expressing ourselves more openly achieves the freedom we always aspired?? Does talking about social stigmas in open makes us liberal and mature society? Does the growth of Indian film industry to adolescent stage make us  relax to an extent? Have we become more liberal, more tolerant?
The answers to the above questions are quite conflicting. When we ponder over these, we find a large range of the variations which exist. We are ready to accept live-in relationships and same sex courtship but we are not ready to let our sisters and daughters wear what they want. We are moral police to them though we enjoy watching models in their minimum outfits. We force them in a way they should dress themselves so that we do feel comfortable in their companionship in society.
We happily attend inter caste/religion marriages but when our "OWN" wants to do the same, we try our best to convince them by citing many examples how their relationships failed who tried the same before. Why so slackness in subconscious mind? It cant be judged whether it is right or wrong but yes, there is certainly "CONTRADICTION".
There is a common notion prevailing in our society that we will not interfere what others are doing in their life but we will not follow the trend as we are the best,in J.K.Rowling's words "Pure Bloods".We don't want to be bad...We are liberal, we send our daughters for better education but if the same daughter tells us about her "live-in" relationship, we frown. We think how can this occur to us, we were "Exceptions". Gradually we accept it with heavy heart and try to set a benchmark in society(though inside we know we never wished the same).
We give national award to the "Dirty" movie as we had to prove to the world that we were growing but we cannot telecast it on the National television as we had babies in our homes who may be misguided by watching such stuffs..what an irony!!
Our babies watch the advertisements of invert-er with an erotic touch but they cant watch bold movies. Why there is no such regulation on advertisements?
We are confused what to do with this liberty and freedom to express. We try to project ourselves as broad minded but then the side effects starts pouring in which we are not ready to accept.
We can never see our teenagers going on prom-nights taking condoms with them. We are not OK with PDAs..yet we want to live in a liberal society where everyone is free to express themselves.
Certainly some middle path needs to be taken to reach the stage where we are comfortable with our culture as well as progress.
Then only the society can come out of the confusion and flourish as never before..
amen

Corporate LI{f}E!!!!

The heading above doesn't truly portraits my views on the new life I have started but yes..it surely indicates a few things I am going through!!
Well..to start with...I joined my new company on 21-06-2010 as a trainee..and what I felt here in this short period of  time..I am writing it here...
First of all..it takes some time to realize that u r out of ur college life and since from day one they make u realize that u r no kid anymore and u should start taking things seriously.....trust me, this thing is most painful....:(
and the next thing they train us here is to sit for long hours without breaks...The first two days were very painful as every college student has not the habit of sitting for more than 40 minutes at a stretch and here they make to sit for 9 hours (minimum) with short gaps in between.....
Then..comes the 3rd....the CODING part...since this is an IT company..they expect you to be very efficient in programming....and it was the thing which I loathed most during last 4 years....
These were the days in which i used to think that is this job worthwhile???
They stressed upon the syntax part more than logic and that made me very uncomfortable....I used to feel very bad about the  whole thing..!!!
One of my close friend left the company and that shook me within....The flashes of memories of our placement days began revolving past my eyes...I could  easily recall the celebration which we did after getting placed in this company...I can easily remember that chilly night on which the result was going to be out...I could have given anything for a +ve result that day...I prayed at the time of result..infact,I begged for the +ve result that day to GOD.
These all feelings were making me nostalgic..i cudn't decide on anything that whether her decision was judicious or not???Though,it has nothing to do with me on a personal basis but I continued to think....It was like my mind was flooded with thoughts and i could do nothing to prevent it....
But,then I met with the mentors and they shared their experiences about this industry, this life..and then i realized one thing that
"THERE ARE NO FREE LUNCHES IN THIS WORLD"

The companies have no option but to train us in that manner so that we cud be an asset for them instead of liabilities....Any one in their position would want to reap the benefits..and as one needs to work hard..as well
 as smart...to be successful here...

ya there are flaws too and sometimes one get very disappointed with the system and think of running away..but who can assure you that the next 1 wud be a better place to work in..

AND..One last bt definitely not the least....here they lie about the remuneration...the CTC states something else and there are 100 clauses to understand it....and a very interesting term i.e Variable allowance which is based on performance..makes the salary slip ambiguous.

Anyways..I am more learning than enjoying here...lets see what is in store ahead...
wl share more experiences of here..till then ciao..:).

The Summer Day..by MARY OLIVER

I liked this poem much..pls have a look

The Summer Day

Mary Oliver

Who made the world?
Who made the swan, and the black bear?
Who made the grasshopper?
This grasshopper, I mean-
the one who has flung herself out of the grass,
the one who is eating sugar out of my hand,
who is moving her jaws back and forth instead of up and down-
who is gazing around with her enormous and complicated eyes.
Now she lifts her pale forearms and thoroughly washes her face.
Now she snaps her wings open, and floats away.
I don't know exactly what a prayer is.
I do know how to pay attention, how to fall down
into the grass, how to kneel down in the grass,
how to be idle and blessed, how to stroll through the fields,
which is what I have been doing all day.
Tell me, what else should I have done?
Doesn't everything die at last, and too soon?
Tell me, what is it you plan to do
with your one wild and precious life?

especially these last two lines...:)

Happiness.......????

Here we see a smiling face and we draw a picture in our mind (subconsciously indeed!) that brings a sense of happiness within us....now here comes the term...HAPPINESS..!!!
During these days,i am very free..[as my MBA entrance exams are over and none of the insti gave me a call :)]..and so such PHILOSOPHICAL thoughts jog in my mind...:)
so..here i am ..definitions first:
OxFord:"An agreeable feeling or condition of the soul arising from good fortune or propitious happening of any kind; the possession of those circumstances or that state of being which is attended with enjoyment; the state of being happy; contentment; joyful satisfaction; felicity; blessedness"
As we see...it is a very complex definition..(atleast for ME!!)..."the state of being happy is happiness".."the condition of soul arising from good fortune"...here soul and fortune...both are abstract terms...so,this definition made me confused..i hope you too!!
So,Let us explore the world of happiness...
There are some default emotions in a human right from birth....like sleeping while hearing lullaby..crying,when hungry and smiling when content...at this stage,it is a bit easy to distinguish between happiness and sorrow...(Exceptions are always there)
The thing becomes complicated as the child begin growing..the emotions mix up several times...like some children are happy giving their toys to fellow ones while there are the exact opposites of them too!!
So..We see there are some inherent qualities..[I am not sure whether they are Genetic..as history suggests that saints have produced devils too..n vice versa!!]..and there are some qualities that are passed to them intentionally or accidentally by the society..
We often see that people are more sad by seeing other people happier..not by their sorrows...and some scholars call it as  a common human trait...so,happiness varies from one person to another...
Right from early times, human beings are striving for power, excellence etc...Fight for survival and so on..but it has become more than just survival..it has become FIGHT FOR HAPPINESS...yes,everyone are going for a wild goose chase for happiness...competing with one another..just for contentment of heart, nothing else..NOTHING ELSE!!
A destitute dreams for the things he lacks and consider them as the means of happiness...if he doesn't get them,he feels defeated and hence remain unhappy...same is the case with everyone..each and everyone craves for things which he dont have and so..the result, UNHAPPINESS...
Thus,we can learn to be happy by observing a child...and there can never be a perfect definition for happiness..[as far as i know]
I know,u all know this and nothing is new in it....and if u feel that it is lacking with the thing it required u will feel unhappy...so,plz dont feel sad and feel free to add colors to this rainbow...and feel HAPPY!!!
Hope to meet u frequently these days, till then ciao:)

IRONY OF LIFE!!!

I was going through a news article today and it stirred me...truly,i was shell-shocked!!
According to reports,a man had kept his wife and his three daughters in captivity since 2002..it is 7 years..a long long time!!
You must be thinking that such reports often come in newspaper then why dis piece attracted my attention....well,u r right...but i,myself dont  know what made me think so much after reading this piece..perhaps the minute details which were presented were so  effective..infact,the thing which surprised me most was that all the three girls were well educated and two were in teaching profession yet they cud not utter a word against him...i don't know what may be the reason behind it but the incident was really heart-shearing...
According to the report, the elder daughter was tied with rope, and all the four members were repeatedly beaten on a daily basis....the screams echoed the whole atmosphere...even a slight imaginaton of these things make me feel uncomfortable...wat would have occured to them?????
No one was allowed to meet them and when gomes[father] went to office,he locked them...not only this,he even locked the kitchen...the family members were tortured to such an extent that when they were rescued, only one of them was able to speak..they forgot to smile and speak...LITERALLY!!!!
They were deprived of  food for several months and have nt bathed or changed clothes for months...the NGO members told that when they entered the flat, the ambience was so scathy that they omitted...even as they r used to visiting slums...bt...now can u feel the pain and sufferings they hav underwent!!
The neighbors reported that they have often seen mrs. gomes eating raw rice in balcony...that clearly indicates the extent of malnourishment they underwent in those long long years...
even they have lost their mental imbalance...this is quite natural, how can one live in such an atmosphere ans still keep his nerves..it must have been impossible even for GOD!!
I was forced to think that wouldn't HELL be a better place than that what they were facing...what say??????

CELEBRATION OF TRIUMPH AGAIN!!!

hey...it is 4 n half in the morning and the dark outside seems to fade away as the dawn approaches!!!
The reddish glow that either appears  or is  envisaged by me,brings a ray of hope and goodwill with it as d day "vijayadashmi" accompanies it.
Yes,today is d day on which the good won over evil...our own lord rama killed ravana and brought peace and harmony in the world....hey...dont worry,i am not going to give u the details which you must have been going thru ur childhood days and on every religious occasion.....u have all learnt some ditties associated with every festival we celebrate...and all this seems sometime monotonous to us...and that was the reason that i was chided by elders each time for not following the rituals properly....what i wanted to point out here is that do we really celebrate what we ought to????
does the good and pure win in recent time??contemporary beliefs suggest that we need to be more focussed in our approach towards religion...hey..please note here that i do not intend to,by any means denigrate  our religion or am interested in blasphemy..these are just the feelings which i felt during these days.
we need to be more honest towards our duties...and that is d best way by which an individual can contribute to his nation....that would be the real meaning of DUSSEHRA!!
happy dussehra and navratra to all of you...!!
